This morning, different groups of people try to apply phrases and words to mean the same thing throughout the Scriptures,

 resulting in great confusion. They try to make "salvation" apply to eternal life in all cases, and they attempt to make the word 

"world" mean every person that has ever lived. However, not applying these words correctly will end up confusing the mind

 and make someone a prime candidate to have their faith overturned by lowering the shield of faith that must be kept high 

against all the darts and wiles of the devil. So, how does the "word" of God apply throughout the Bible, and which is it talking about here?

The Psalmist writes that the word of the Lord is settled for ever in heaven. One application that can be easily drawn from this is 

that the Living Word of God is forever settled in heaven. This Living Word was manifest in the flesh (even though He has always existed). 

During this manifestation, He walked this low ground of sin and sorrow for 33.5 years. One might say, "Then how is He forever settled in heaven?”

 According to Christ's own words to Nicodemus, He was in heaven and earth at the same time. (John 3:13) Now, that might be confusing until 

one realizes that Christ is all God and all man at the same time, and therefore, we cannot fully understand Him as finite beings.  

So, Christ (Word) is forever settled in heaven. That was manifestly or legally shown when He sat down at the right hand of the Father, and 

He is set there as well (Hebrews 1:3 and Hebrews 8:1). He finished the legal work, and nothing shall rouse Him to have to set foot on the earth 

or take upon Himself the form of a servant anymore. The written word of God is forever settled as well. Our Lord declares in Mark 13:31 that 

His words would always be present. Even when time shall be no more and all that we see melts away with a fervent heat, His words are forever sure. 

The Psalmist declared that He would preserve them for each generation forever. (Psalm 12:6-7) Therefore, the written word of God is forever settled

 as well.  

Finally, the preached word is forever settled as well. Now this one gives rise for confusion if not rightly divided. We, as gospel ministers 

today, try to preach the word to the hungry saints. However, there will be no need to preach to them in heaven. So, how is that word forever 

settled? Jesus Christ is the best and perfect gospel minister, and He has "preached" something (we call it the irresistible call) into every child of 

grace. Now, we do not have perfect or complete understanding.  

But, when this mortal body lies down in death, our spirit and soul go back to God completely stripped of all fleshly and sinful burdens.

 At that moment, we know Him just as well as He knows us. At that moment, His preached word is perfectly with us forever. Then, when the

 Lord reunites the body with the soul and spirit, the whole person will be fashioned into the image of Christ. Then, it will be manifest to all of 

God's children that every aspect of God's word is forever settled in heaven.
